We Did It!! 🎉 Our First Wedding Photography Experience

Well, guys… we did it!!!
Remember a few blogs ago when I mentioned we were prepping for our very first wedding shoot? Well—it has come and gone, and I think it was a HUGE success.

Let me just start by saying: I was completely right. My arm and shoulder? Absolute jelly from holding that humongous lens for hours. But the wedding itself? Beautiful.

Jenay took the lead with the bride and bridesmaids while I hung out with the groom and groomsmen—and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. Jenay has shot weddings before, and she just has that natural eye. I, on the other hand, tend to shoot from the hip—literally and figuratively.

Leading up to the big day, she coached me through so much: how to focus properly, frame my angles, what to avoid shooting, how to reset my camera when it acts up… the works. But once the day arrived? All of that knowledge flew right out the window.

My biggest fear was disappointing my amazing business partner. But y’all…
My pictures were actually pretty good!! 🙌
I was proud of what I captured—and even more grateful that we got to do it together.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when Jenay and I came together to capture the first touch between the bride and groom. It was such an emotional moment, and I loved getting to shoot it side-by-side with her. And then, of course, the ceremony—we teamed up again and made sure every angle was covered. It felt like all our prep and practice finally clicked.

The bride and groom were absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony was sweet and heartfelt. The reception? So much fun!

The entertainment?
Yes, that was our children performing. (Proud mom moment!)

The food? Delicious.
The guests? Lovely.
The dancing? A total vibe.

I can honestly say, after this experience:
I really like wedding photography.
And I cannot wait for our next one! We already have a few couples reaching out and I’m just over here like: Ekkkkkkk!!! 🎉💍📸

We’re learning, we’re growing, and we’re doing it together—and honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better partner in this journey. 💕
